Sir,

M.P.,

M.C.,

Mui Tsai in Hong Kong

I am venturing to enclose you copy of this week's "Vote" and would ask your kind attention to the article headed "Mui Tsai in Hong Kong" on page 380.

We are gravely concerned at the reports which reach us of the Mui-Tsai in Hong Kong. May we urge that the Government take stens to ensure the immediate registration of all Mui Tsai in that Colony, and also all "adopted" daughters; further to ensure a much more thorough system of inspection of the houses where they are lodged and the imposition of far heavier penalties on those who infringe the law? We also specially ask, as we have asked before, that there should be a British woman inspector of these Mui-Tsai.

In the hope that the above matter will receive your

consideration,

I am, Sir

OHC

Yours faithfully,

Florence Q. Underwood.
